Our Blog: The Second Year

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!
It's hard to believe that we have been blogging consistently for two years now, masha'Allah! This time last year we did a post on our experience of blogging regularly and what we learnt along the way. We wanted to do something similar in this post too, insha'Allah. We will also list some of our favourite posts from our blog's second year so that you can take a look at them if you haven't and would like to.
Alhamdulillah, this year we were definitely more relaxed and organised than we were last year. It is probably because our mind-set shifted from the slightly less confident:

"We want to blog consistently this year, insha'Allah."

to the more positive:

"We know we can blog consistently this year, insha'Allah."

which is obviously because we had done it once before, so it felt easier. It is still hard to juggle everything but, alhamdulillah, it is a fun challenge which we hope to keep doing for at least another year, insha'Allah.

If we were to pick one thing that we improved this year, it would be our photography skills. We wanted to improve the quality of our blog photos and, masha'Allah, we believe we have been able to(a little 😊) without having to buy a better camera. We mostly just tried to take photos in good, natural lighting and from different angles to make them look more interesting. Also, we got a lot of inspiration and tips online from seeing how professionals take their photos.

Now we don't want to ramble too much, so we'll list some of our favourite posts from our blog's second year.

Bakes
Our favourite recipes which we shared this year were:

The DIYs we had fun making were:

Some other crafts we enjoyed sharing have been:

We also liked writing our book recommendation posts, Maryam's updates on her gardening and the posts on our 2018 summer holiday.

Well, that is all for this post. It has been an eventful year and we have a feeling things are only going to get more busy! Insha'Allah, we will try to continue to blog every Friday. Let us know what posts you liked the most or email us at craftymuslimahs@hotmail.com if you would like to give us suggestions privately.

Take care and Wassalam,

  1. My father is quite a professional photographer, alhamdulillaah. My pictures are often... weird... because I use a phone sometimes, and then my little camera which CAN do good pictures in nature, and nature only. Your pictures are great! : )
