Maryam here. For the past couple of months I've enjoyed baking recipes that are easy and don't take too long to prepare, especially since I'm still studying and have exams coming up in literally a few months time!
So, here's another easy recipe I really enjoy baking.
Ingredients:
(Filling)
9 - 10 green apples, peeled, cored and diced
25g soft brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 tbls water
(Crumble)
225g plain or wholewheat flour
75g butter, room temperature
75g soft brown sugar
Method:
1. For the filling, place the diced apples, sugar, spices and water in a saucepan.
4. For the crumble, place the flour, butter and sugar in a bowl and rub together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
(When you clump the mixture together it should hold but when you break it, it should crumble.)
6. Bake for 30 - 40 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, until the crumble is slightly browned.
And you're done!
You can serve it with yogurt, cream or custard. My personal favourite is yogurt.
Well, that's all for this post. Hope you liked it and give it a go. Until next week insha'Allah.
Love and wasalaam,
Maryam.
Ooh, definitely on my baking list! When I have 9 apples lol inshaa Allaah! (Did you notice the stores are out of brown sugar?)
