Lime Lemonade Recipe

Assalamu Alaikum!
It's Hanifah here and today I wanted to share my recipe for lime lemonade. I have made it a couple of times before and our family really enjoys it, so I hope you will too. Let's begin!

For this recipe you will need:-
1.5 litres water
150g sugar
5 medium-sized lemons
3 limes

First you will need to heat the sugar and water on a low heat.
Stir until the sugar dissolves and then remove from heat.
Then cut and squeeze the lemons and limes.
Save a few lemon and lime slices to garnish if you would like.
Next add the lemon and lime juice to the sugary water.
Place the pan on a very low heat for around 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do a taste test and add a little more sugar if needed.
Remove from heat and allow to cool for a while before pouring the lemonade into a jug. Then place in the fridge to cool completely before serving.
Remember to garnish with the lemon and lime slices.

See you next week, insha'Allah.

Sumayyah's Abstract Artwork

Assalamu Alaikum!
Sumayyah here, and today, I would like to show you a very easy and fun project to do. It only takes a few minutes to do.

You will need:-
Scissors
Tape
Small or Big Canvas
Paint
Paintbrush
Palette (optional)

First, take your canvas and tape. Cut the tape and stick strips of it on the canvas, leaving some clear spaces as shown below.
Then paint the clear spaces. It's alright if the paint gets onto the tape.
When it dries, remove the tape.
If you like, you can paint the sides of the canvas as well.
And there, you are done!
This is a nice present to give to anyone who likes abstract art. If you have lots of canvases, you can make a lot in one day! Here are some embroidered canvases that I made for my parents for Eid.
I hope you liked this post and that you enjoy doing this craft.

Wassalam,

Sumayyah

Crochet Doll's Accessories (part 1)

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!
It's Zainab here and at the beginning of this year I became interested in crocheting. I started off following a couple of tutorials online and then began making up my own patterns for dolls' dresses and coats. The first dress I ever made was for one of Sumayyah's dolls.
I made up the pattern myself and just experimented with different crochet stitches. The ruffles were sort of a mistake but I liked them and learnt how to make them look neater and nicer for the next dress.
This dress is my favourite so far. I made the stitches looser and so the dress came out softer. It can't be removed, however, as it was then sewn onto the doll.
I also made some sleeves and boots using a similar pattern. The boots are removable.
For the coats, I copied this tutorial for dolls' jackets and then I just made them longer. They don't take long to make and are definitely easier to make than the dresses. I have made three so far and, insha'Allah, I want to make a wintry-blue one next.
Insha'Allah, I will do another part to this post and show you some other dolls' accessories I've been working on. Well, that is all for now.

Wassalam,

Zainab
