Easy Chocolate Cupcake Recipe

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!
It's Hanifah here and today I'm going to be showing you how to bake these tasty and simple chocolate cupcakes. They don't take that long to prepare and bake and this recipe makes about 24 cupcakes.

For this recipe you will need:-
(Dry ingredients)
1¾ cups All purpose flour
2 cups sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
1½ tsp baking powder
1½ tsp bicarbonate soda
1 tsp coffee
1 tsp salt
(Wet ingredients)
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
½ cup boiling water
2 tsp vanilla extract

First measure out the flour, sugar and cocoa powder.
Whisk them together.
Then add the rest of the dry ingredients.

Pour the wet ingredients into a jar except for the boiling water and whisk with a fork.
Now add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
Then add the boiling water and mix well.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius, 350 degrees Fahrenheit, gas mark 4. Line your muffin tins with paper cases.
I overfilled mine and they overflowed when baking so make sure you only fill the cases halfway.
Bake on the middle shelf for 20 to 25 minutes. When a toothpick is inserted into the centre it should come out clean. Allow to cool for around 10 minutes.
They are perfect with some fresh berries.
Enjoy!

Recycling Leftover Wrapping Paper

Assalamu Alaikum.

This week we are going to show you one of the ways in which you can reuse your old wrapping paper. We always try our best to save any undamaged wrappings, however, even if you tear the paper it can still be reused.

For this recycle project you will need:-
1 or 2 shoeboxes
scissors
glue
old wrapping paper

For the first shoebox we tried a messy look and decided to tear the paper so that the edges were all raggedy.
Since we found we had quite a bit of undamaged red wrapping paper, we lined the inside of the box with it.
Next, we glued the torn pieces of paper onto the outside to the shoebox. We purposefully chose different but complimentary patterns.
For the second shoebox we decided to cut the paper into squares and rectangles instead. The result was a neat and pretty collage. We didn't line the inside this time.
Alhamdulillah we were very pleased with the final results!
Now they have to go back in the bedroom were they belong holding some of Zainab and Sumayyah's favourite books. By the way, be sure to watch out for some book recommendations we will be doing soon insha'Allah :)
We hope you enjoyed the tutorial and that we have inspired you to create something similar. Until next week!

(5) Remove it from the oven and mix in the dried fruit, dates and coconut chips. Bake it for a further 5 minutes or until golden.

Zainab and Sumayyah's Room Tour 2017

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!

We thought we would begin this month with a tour of our bedroom. It's a rather small room but we tried to make it as cosy and comfy as possible. So welcome!

This is the view through the doorway.

To the left are our bunk beds and nightstand.
Zainab has the top bunk and Sumayyah has the bottom one.
In one corner of the room is the dressing table and our blackboard.
We store our read-aloud storybooks here.
In the other corner is our desk.
The left side is Zainab's and the right side is Sumayyah's. We share the middle section.
This used to be in our kitchen but now it stores all our stationary.
The right side of our room has built-in cubby holes and wardrobes.
Toys on Sumayyah's bed...
...and more stored underneath.
We hope you liked the tour!

Wassalam,
