Crochet Doll's Hats and Bags (part 3)

Assalamu Alaikum!
It's Zainab here, and today I would like to show you some more doll accessories I have been working on. I hope you like them InshaAllah!

First is this brown shoulder bag with a pink bow sewn on to the front.
I've been wanting to make a bag with a long strap so that it fits snugly on the doll's shoulder and wouldn't slip off, and Alhamdulillah this one has worked!
Next I made two small pouches.
I made them by using the same pattern I used for crocheting boots and sleeves, and then threaded a bit of pink wool through so as to make it a drawstring pouch.
They are meant to fit tightly on the dolls' wrist, and MashaAllah I am happy with them (they are my first try).
I think my new favourite thing to crochet is: hats! I was imagining them for a winter themed dolly, although they don't have to be.
They're fun and quick to make MashaAllah and I think the pompoms make them nicer.
I hope you enjoyed this short post. I'd love to experiment and make more bags, hats and clothes of different kinds. I usually just have an idea and make it up as I go along, which doesn't always bring out the best results, but Alhamdulillah it means I'll (hopefully) learn from the mistakes!
Well that is all for now. If you would like to see more you can click here for part 1 and here for part 2. Until next week!
Love and wasalaam,

Zainab

Healthy Green Smoothie Recipe

Assalamu Alaikum!
It's Maryam here this week. For the past month and a half I've been having a Smoothie every morning for breakfast and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It's very easy and quick to whip up, especially when in a hurry. Today's recipe is very simple, yummy and above all: Healthy!
So let's begin.

Ingredients:
1 Banana (the riper, the sweeter)
1 cup Mango (frozen)
1 handful of Spinach
1 cup Milk/Plant based milk(oats milk, almond milk, etc)/Water
1/6 tsp. Moringa powder (optional)
1/4 tsp. Flax seed powder (optional)

Equipment:
Blender

In the blender place the banana, frozen mango (I like some fruit to be frozen because it makes the smoothie both cold and slushy), spinach and liquid (I used oats milk).
Blend until smooth, then add the Moringa powder and Flax seed powder if using.
At this point you should taste your drink to see if it's as sweet as you would like (if not, add more fruit) and whether the consistency is to your liking (if too thick, add more liquid).
And you're done! It's that easy, masha'Allah, and the recipe can always be tweaked by adding pineapple and avocado!
Hope you enjoyed this post and should you give it a go let me know, and mention what ingredients you used. Until next Friday, insha'Allah.

Wasalaam,

Maryam

Our 2019 Summer Holiday (part 1)

Assalamu Alaikum!

In today's post we would like to share some photos from our summer holiday. We spent it in England with our family and had a lovely time, masha'Allah!
When we were younger we barely knew our family because we lived so far away. For the past several years, however, we have been able to go back and spend our holidays with them, alhamdulillah.

Harith

If you read our last holiday post then you probably remember our Nani (maternal grandmother) had a new cat named Harith. We met up with him again and he was just as sweet and adorable as before.
He was slightly naughtier than last year and had grown a bit bigger. We were so happy to see him again, masha'Allah!
We spent Eid-ul-Adha with family and friends at our Nani's. The house was full of people and we all had a wonderful time, masha'Allah. We did some shopping at second-hand shops, had a sleepover with our cousins, played with Harith, ate out and enjoyed quality time with family.

Holiday Home
During our stay we also spent a week on our own at a holiday home. Masha'Allah, it was a very private farmhouse surrounded by beautiful fields and woods, so we were able to take off our hijabs and completely relax.
Inside the house the rooms were big and spacious, perfect for a family of seven, masha'Allah.
Masha'Allah we all loved the large fire place.
Hanifah and Maryam's room.
Zainab and Sumayyah's room.
SubhanAllah, the views from the windows of the house were lovely, and a feature we don't want to forget, insha'Allah.
Although our holiday ended only a few weeks ago it feels like it's been much longer with the amount of things going on (e.g. school, studying, work). We don't want this post to be too long so we will do a second part in a few weeks time, insha'Allah. Until next week.

Love and wasalaam,
