Torba Farmers Market Is Back!

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!
We have mentioned before that we enjoy going to Torba, which is an open-air seasonal farmers market here in Qatar. The market ended in April because the weather became too hot. However, it is starting up again this weekend and we are looking forward to it's return!
Torba is an Arabic word that translates as "the pure seed that feeds, nourishes and nurtures". We think it is the perfect name for this artisan and eco-friendly market.
It is located at the Ceremonial Court in Qatar Foundation's Education City and is well worth the visit. There are a variety of things to please everyone - locally-grown organic fruits and vegetables, delicious homemade vegan food, artwork and handicrafts, skincare products and organic clothing!
They even have some free public workshops on things such as gardening and healthy cooking.
The market aims to encourage people to be more eco-friendly and reduce the negative affects their lifestyles have on the environment. A beautiful and educational message that needs to be shared. There are many, many simple adjustments that one can make for the benefit of the planet - but more on that some other time, insha'Allah.

Have you ever been to Torba Farmers Market? If not, then did this post excite you and make you want to go?! See you in our next post, insha'Allah.

Take care and Wassalam,
