Assalamu Alaikum!
Ibn Mas'ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"The believer does not taunt others, he does not curse others, he does not use profanity, and he does not abuse others."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 1977]

Reflections:-
'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me'. This is a very wrong thing to teach children for two reasons:
1. It is false. So they are simply being taught a lie and will find out the truth eventually.
2. It teaches them that they can say mean things to others, because words don't hurt people.
Words do hurt, so be kind. If you have to criticise, remember this old Arab proverb: 'When you shoot an arrow of truth, dip its point in honey'.
Love and Wassalam,
