Hadith of the Day - 17

Assalamu Alaikum!
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"There is no gift that is better and more comprehensive than patience."
[Sahih al-Bukhari, 1400]
______

Reflections:-

Impatience and frustration usually occur when we are being overworked. In those moments we can become short-tempered and snappy, even towards those who are trying to help us. Sometimes it really can't be helped and you just have to apologise to them afterwards. That being said, there are some things that we can try to do to calm down.

Tips:-

1. If you don't have to do everything on your own, then don't. Ask someone to help you.
2. Allah can always make things easier for you, even if no one else can. So make dua'a.
3. Take short breaks from your work - especially when studying and revising - and do something completely different.

Hadith of the Day - 14

Assalamu Alaikum!
Abu Nadrah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?"
[Musnad Ahmad, 22978]
______

We all bleed the same colour.

Hadith of the Day - 13

Assalamu Alaikum!
Ibn Mas'ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"The believer does not taunt others, he does not curse others, he does not use profanity, and he does not abuse others."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 1977]
______

Reflections:-
'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me'. This is a very wrong thing to teach children for two reasons:

1. It is false. So they are simply being taught a lie and will find out the truth eventually.
2. It teaches them that they can say mean things to others, because words don't hurt people.

Words do hurt, so be kind. If you have to criticise, remember this old Arab proverb: 'When you shoot an arrow of truth, dip its point in honey'.

[Sunan ibn Majah, 4217]

______

Love all. Trust a few. Do wrong to none.

Abu Umamah reported: The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the world one day. The Prophet said,

[Sunan Abi Dawud, 4161]
______
