Hadith of the Day - 11

Assalamu Alaikum!

Abu Umamah reported: The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the world one day. The Prophet said,

"Do you not hear? Do you not hear? Verily, simple living is part of faith, simple living is part of faith."

[Sunan Abi Dawud, 4161]

Reduce the amount of stuff you have. Donate to charity. Give things to people who will better appreciate them. Be mindful of everything that you bring into your home. Only keep the necessities and the things that you truly love.

Hadith of the Day - 10

Assalamu Alaikum!

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

"Whoever gives up wearing elegant and expensive garments out of humbleness, when he can do so, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection and before all creations, He will give him the choice to wear whichever garment of Iman he would like to wear."

[At-Tirmidhi 2481, authenticated by shaykh Al-Albaanee]

Prompts and Tips:-

Don't go for expensive top brands. Don't follow fashion trends. Don't dress to impress those around you.

Buy second hand - there is no shame in it. Go for quality over quantity. Use your clothes until they wear out.

Hadith of the Day - 9

Assalamu Alaikum!

Iyad ibn Himar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble towards one another, so that no one oppresses another or boasts to another."

[Sahih Muslim, 2865]

Hadith of the Day - 8

Assalamu Alaikum!

Ibn Mas'ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise."

Someone said, "But a man loves to have beautiful clothes and shoes." The Prophet said:

"Verily, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people."

[Sahih Muslim, 91]

Ramadan - Week 1

Assalamu Alaikum!

Insha'Allah you have all been enjoying your Ramadan so far! Sadly, Sumayyah has been ill and hasn't been able to fast most of this week. However, she has still been working through her Reward Calendar. In this quick post we will show you what she received for the week.

Day 2 - 'Learn a New Surah' prompt card.

Day 3 - Sweet.

Day 4 - Butterfly hairclip.

Day 5 - Baking voucher.

Day 6 - Sweet.

Day 7 - Extra lead.

Alhamdulillah, she is feeling better and, insha'Allah, she will be back to normal soon. We will be back next Sunday with another post on her Reward Calendar fillers. Until then, insha'Allah.

Assalamu Alaikum!

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather he looks at your hearts and actions."

Adopt a more simplistic lifestyle. Take time to de-clutter; not just your possessions but also your mind. Remove impure thoughts from your head and negative feelings from your heart. Focus on improving your thoughts, words and actions.

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"Verily, the most complete of believers in faith are those with the best character and who are most kind to their families."

Write a list of the things you want to improve about yourself. Acknowledge your flaws and work hard to correct them.


Ring up a family member you haven't spoken to in a while. Lend a helping hand. Say something kind to a loved one.
