Our Old Blog

Assalamu Alaikum everyone.
We have a couple of things to tell you in today's post. The first is about our old blog which we started in 2011 and ended in the autumn of 2017. We thought you may be interested in seeing some old projects we did when we first started blogging.
We then moved on to this blog as we got older to begin afresh and try being more consistent with our posting. Alhamdulillah, we have achieved that so far!
Now on to the second thing we want to address and we feel it is rather sad news, unfortunately. We will, insha'Allah, be leaving our blog in September. We are not sure how long we will be gone; it may be forever or we may return but no longer be posting regularly. This is because we are all very busy nowadays and don't want our blog to become a burden instead of a hobby! Insha'Allah, we hope you understand.
In case you didn't know about our old blog, here is a link so you can visit and see how our blogging journey began!
Today, we have chosen a few of our favourite projects from our old blog to share in this post. Without further ado, here is the first craft:

This was our first craft on our old blog and was made by Maryam.
We went through a phase of playing with these miniature dolls and made them this boutique. We called it Zainab's Boutique because we made Zainab's doll the shop owner.
We also made the dolls a car out of small cereal boxes.
This was arguably our most popular post on our old blog, masha'Allah. It was a project Hanifah did for school, back when we weren't home-schooled, and masha'Allah is still impressive to this day!
(You can click on the photos for a closer look)
This was probably our biggest project. It was an Eid gift from us all to Sumayyah when she was around 5 years old. SubhanAllah! Looking back on it now, we are amazed at the amount of detail we put into the house to make it feel like a real lived-in home!
Well that is all for this post.
We have really enjoyed blogging consistently and we would like to end on a high. So! Insha'Allah, we will be posting on Tuesdays and Fridays until September 4th.
We hope you liked looking at our old blog posts. Sorry for the old, poor quality photos. See you on Tuesday, insha'Allah!

Eid Table Spreads 2020

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!

We hope you all had a lovely Eid! Masha'Allah, we started our morning by praying Eid Salah at home and then played some games as a family. It was great fun!
For this post we thought we would share with you the table spreads we designed for this years two Eid's.
Masha'Allah we all love our Mum's cooking and Hanifah and Maryam really enjoy decorating the dinning table.
So without further delay, here is our breakfast spread from Eid Al-Fitr!
And here is last week's spread, Eid Al-Adha! This time we decorated the table for lunch. Masha'Allah it was delicious!
We hope you liked seeing a part of our Eid Day with us. Insha'Allah you are all doing well and having a nice time.
Until next Friday, insha'Allah!

Love and wasalaam,

Strawberry and Chocolate Milkshake Recipe

Assalamu Alaikum everyone!
It's Sumayyah here, and today I will show you how to make a Strawberry and Chocolate Milkshake. I made this recipe with my Mother and when we tried it, it tasted great, masha'Allah.
So here is how to make it!

Ingredients:
12 medium sized strawberries
2 cups milk
4 tbsp. maple syrup (or sweeten to taste)
2 tbsp. cream
some ice
chocolate spread

Method:
Firstly, place the strawberries in a blender.
Pour in the maple syrup and cream. Add the milk and blend until smooth.
Add the ice and blend.
This is your strawberry milkshake!
Pour out half the mixture into bottles and add a tablespoon of chocolate spread to the remaining half of the strawberry milkshake in the blender.
And that is your Strawberry Chocolate Milkshake.
Yum! Masha'Allah.
This recipe makes around four of these bottles.
That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed it, and let me know if you give this recipe a go. See you next Friday, insha'Allah.

Love and wasalaam,

Sumayyah
